Watsonia Heights Soccer Club to Get New Facilities!
The Andrews Labor Government is investing in better facilities for the Watsonia Heights Soccer Club, including creating female friendly facilities.
The project, which has been funded from the Andrews Government’s Community Sport and Infrastructure Fund, will involve revamping the existing change rooms to make them female friendly, including reshaping the shower and toilet area, providing for access from other areas and changing the open showers into single showers.
The total project cost will be $180,000 which will include $30,000 from the club, $100,000 from Banyule Council and $50,000 from the state government.
Watsonia Heights Soccer Club is the largest soccer club in Banyule which boasts a 30% female participation rate, well above the Victorian average of 17%. The club currently has 25 junior teams, 3 senior men’s teams and 2 senior women’s teams.
